Cinnamon Roll Apple Cobbler

Try this excellent Cinnamon Roll Apple Cobbler recipe…really worth it!!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans of Pillsbury Grands Cinnamon Rolls*
  • 5 large apples (3 granny smith, 2 sweeter variety)
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons corn starch
  • 1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

    1. Generously butter or grease a 1o inch round pan or oven safe skillet and preheat the oven to 375°F. Set the pan aside.
    2. In a large bowl mix together the sugar, cornstarch, spices and salt.
    3. Peel and core the apples before slicing into thin 1/8 – 1/4″ slices. Add the apples to sugar mixture and toss to combine. You can use two big wooden spoons to do this, but I like to use my hands instead. Add the apples to the buttered dish and arrange in an even layer.
    4. Place in the oven for 20 minutes to prebake before you put the cinnamon rolls on. This will help the cinnamon rolls not get soggy.
    5. Arrange the cinnamon rolls over the apple mixture and place back in the oven. Bake at 375°F for 25 more minutes or until the cinnamon rolls are golden brown and the apple layer is bubbling. Take out of the oven.
    6. Take the icing from the cinnamon roll can and drizzle or spoon it over the cinnamon rolls. Serve hot!

Notes

*If you use the Pillsbury rolls and bake in a round pan, you will have 3 rolls left over. You can place these in the freezer to use at a later date! You can also free to use a different brand of cinnamon rolls or make your own homeade!
